The SD:SPUR project recognised from the beginning that stakeholders, both individuals and organisations, hold a range of diverse but legitimate views on the issue of the reuse and recycling of wastes from nuclear sites. In order to ensure effective communications between different people involved in the project, the facilitation team (Carl Reynolds Associates and The Environment Council) in conjunction with CIRIA developed a communications plan, which was later approved by the Project Steering Group (PSG) in February 2004.
In July 2005, following the finalisation of the SD:SPUR Main guidance, the PSG requested a review of communications activities to take into account the lessons learnt whilst developing the document. Carl Reynolds Associates undertook this review on behalf of the PSG and following discussion at PSG meeting 6 (04 October 2005) the revised plan was agreed. The latest version of the communications plan is available through the link below (new text has been underlined).

During the 2005/6 Financial Year CIRIA will be working with Carl Reynolds Associates and the PSG to further develop ideas and mechanisms to enhance the opportunity for input to developing and existing documents. This will almost certainly include further workshops and may include the development of interactive web facilities.
